An Inspirational Night in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, S.C | August 2013

Spirit: An attitude or principle that inspires, animates, or pervades thought, feeling, or action.

This attitude was on display at Orange Leaf Myrtle Beach, on a night when the community came together as a family to support Help 4 Kids/Backpack Buddies of South Carolina.

Help 4 Kids is an all volunteer organization started in 1989 to help provide children with school needs that will allow them go to school with confidence.  Back Pack Buddies provides weekend food bags to children who might be as risk of going hungry when school is out.

As a store that is very involved in the local community, it was no surprise when Orange Leaf Myrtle Beach applied for a 2013 community service grant to help host a spirit night for Help 4 kids/Backpack Buddies.

Orange Leaf Headquarters (HQ) awarded grants of up to $2,500 to 14 stores March of this year, as part of our first annual Community Service Initiative. Stores were able to apply for grants to help support their local partnerships and community service events, and Orange Leaf Myrtle beach was one such store that applied.

The spirit night was held Friday, August 23, 2013 at the store located at 3020 Nevers St. in Myrtle Beach.

Orange Leaf fans and locals learned about the event via social media and came out in numbers just to donate school supplies.

Samantha Anderson, general manager of Orange Leaf Myrtle Beach said it was a joy to see the number of Orange Leaf fans who came to the store just to donate.

“I can’t express how much we appreciate the Orange Leaf fans here in Myrtle Beach,” said Anderson. “There is no better place for an Orange leaf store because the residents of Myrtle Beach share the same values of family and community we believe in as a brand.”

The staff donated their grant award of $1,250 to Help 4 Kids/Backpack Buddies in addition to the supplies donated by the community.

“The event was a success, and the representatives from Help 4 Kids were surprised and thankful,” Anderson said. “It was great to know that we could support a local organization and bring smiles to the faces of kids as they attend school.”

Orange Leaf Myrtle Beach inspired the community and their fans by hosting such a simple and thoughtful event. They have plans for future events with Help 4 Kids/Backpack Buddies of South Carolina.
