Family and Community
Dracut, Mass. Store Owners Ken and Sandi Cunha live and breathe the Orange Leaf values of family and community. The couple has dedicated their lives to giving back to their community, so opening their Orange Leaf store has been an extension of their efforts
In January 2013, the owners established a partnership with the Dracut Food Pantry , a local organization that supports the less fortunate by providing groceries every month. The Cunhas were adamant about forming this partnership because they believed it would raise money to help keep the pantry stocked.
The store put up a donation bowl and agreed to become a drop-off point for food donations.
Ken and Sandi said their customers embraced the idea and have been extremely supportive.
“Our willingness to give back to this community has been rewarding,” Ken Cunha said. “Our customers have embraced the idea and love the fact that we are community-focused brand.”
At the end of April, the store had collected $2,000 for the food pantry. Orange Leaf HQ also awarded the store $500 for their 2013 Orange Leaf Community Service Initiative grant application, bringing their total donation to $2,500.
The Cunhas said this partnership is ongoing and they plan to raise even more money this year and in the years to come.
Orange Leaf Dracut recently participated in the Lowell General Hospital walk for Cancer and donated over $1,000 to help cancer patients with travel expenses and items not covered by insurance. The store has also donated $500 to the Boston Marathon One Fund and over $1,000 to Boston Children’s Hospital.
Ken and Sandi truly exemplify the culture and values of our brand and we are proud to call them part of the Orange Leaf family!
